With so many accidents in the home occurring in the bathroom (RoSPA state that more than 19,000 over 75-year-olds attend Accident and Emergency Departments each year following an injury in the toilet or bathroom*), the Telecare-Enabled Neptune Bath Lift by Mountway provides total peace of mind for bathing independently and safely.
In the UK telecare has grown out of one of the defining aspects of sheltered housing – access to 24 hour help in an emergency. Telecare provides a comprehensive way of managing the risks associated with an individual’s health and home environment, providing automatic, tailored care through remote monitoring and the proactive management of risks. A range of telecare sensors monitor risks, hazards and environmental conditions, triggering a call to the Response Centre or designated carer if assistance is required. The Telecare–Enabled Neptune Bath Lift is an extension of this support.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that non-waterproof pendants are often not worn in the bathroom, and are instead left hanging behind doors or in drawers. Pull cords, although a fixture in bathrooms, are difficult to reach when in the bath and often inaccessible from the floor.
