History
Originally established in 1972 as a specialised manufacturer of glass-reinforced products, Mountway has evolved into a true leader in the field of healthcare products.
In 1981, Mountway established itself in the world’s healthcare market with the development of the world’s first portable battery-powered bath lift, winner of the HTV Product Innovation of the Year Award. The bath lift was an instant success and by 1990 Mountway was firmly established and considered a specialist in the production of bath lifts.
Over the following years, further recognition was achieved through Investors in People, BSI, ISO 9001, and the Green Dragon Environmental Standard (level 4). Our commitment to customer care was recognised in 2002 with the prestigious BHTA award for excellence in customer services.
Continued dialogue with users and healthcare professionals has led the way to developing a wider range of products. The year 2000 brought new success with the launch of the Serena Pillow Lift and the Mountway Solo Toilet Lift, winner of the UK Independent Living Design Award.
In July 2004, facilities at our South Wales base were expanded with the construction of a new production and distribution centre. This ensures our continued total control over the manufacturing process and procurement chain, allowing us to offer exceptional quality and delivery standards.
